Call for Poetry Submissions: “Christmas at the Creek”

Brick Street Poetry Inc., publisher of the Tipton Poetry Journal, is issuing this call for a special winter issue of the journal to be themed “Christmas at the Creek.” Poets are invited to respond with art-inspired, previously unpublished poems to artwork at the Sugar Creek ART Center in Thorntown, Indiana, 127 South Pearl Street, Thorntown, Indiana 46071, 765-436-7102, (open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays).


Poets may visit Sugar Creek ART Center in person to view all the many items available for inspiration, or they may choose a piece of artwork from one of the six images by featured artist Cindy Cradler (shown throughout this post). Send poems to sugarcreek@brickstreetpoetry.org.


Cradler No. 4
 Please identify the artwork by name of the work and the artist with your entry if you have made your selection after a visit to the center, or by image number if you are choosing from this site. For this issue we will have a special category for poets 17 years and younger, and you must submit your age if you are you are submitting in this special category.


All poems must be received by November 2, 2012.

Cradler No. 5
 There will be a $100 editor’s choice award for the best poem in this edition and 12 poets will be chosen to participate in a reading of from the issue on December 14, at Sugar Creek ART Center.
