Barry Harris is editor of the Tipton Poetry Journal and has published one poetry collection, Something At The Center. Barry lives in Brownsburg, Indiana and is retired from Eli Lilly and Company. His poetry has appeared in Grey Sparrow, Silk Road Review, Saint Ann‘s Review, Boston Literary Magazine, Night Train, Silver Birch Press, Hiss Quarterly, Cherry Blossom Review, Flying Island, Lily, The Centrifugal Eye, Flutter, Wheelhouse Magazine, Houston Literary Review, Snow Monkey, Fissure, Awaken Consciousness, and Writers‘ Bloc. One of his poems is on display at the National Museum of Sport and another is painted on a barn in Boone County, Indiana as part of Brick Street Poetry‘s Word Hunger public art project. His poems are also included in these anthologies: From the Edge of the Prairie; Motif 3: All the Livelong Day; and Twin Muses: Art and Poetry. Joyce Brinkman served as Indiana's first poet laureate from 2002-2008. She has a BA from Hanover College. She began writing poetry at age nine and was first published in Hill Thoughts. Her book, Tiempo Español, was written in Spain where she studied with the University of New Orleans MFA program. Her poetry  has appeared in newspapers, magazines, and on CDs, bookmarks and buses, as well as on a wall in the town square of Quezaltepeque, El Salvador.  Joyce is one of six poets who have poetry in 25 foot, stained glass windows at the Indianapolis International Airport. A group of those poets have produced on a book of travel metaphor, Rivers, Rails and Runways, and a book of postcard poems, Airmail from the Airpoets. She also collaborated with glass artist Arlon Bayliss on lighted glass art containing her poetry for the new Marion County Central Library addition.  She is a strong proponent of poetry as public art and enjoys working with both visual and other literary artists on projects. Joyce shares a house in Indianapolis, IN, with her husband and a sweet cat and seeks solitude for writing at a condo in West Palm Beach, Florida.

A callout to all ISFPC Members from Mary Couch, Premiere Poet:

For our Fall Rendezvous this year, we have the pleasure of Joyce Brinkman as one of our guest presenters doing a program on Collaborative Poetry. 

Joyce and I have decided to do a collaborative poem with the ISFPC Membership prior to the Rendezvous to be read on Friday night as a taste of what can be accomplished by a group of poets. (This poem may also be part of the Bicentennial Birthday Book that Brick Street Poetry is preparing for 2016) 

If you are interested in being part of this poem (whether you are attending Rendezvous or not), please send your name and email to either Joyce Brinkman at joycebrinkman@yahoo.com or Mary Couch atmacouchpoet@att.net  no later than July 31st. Once we have a list of those wishing to participate, we will send you the information as to the theme, form  and where your part in the poem will be located. This should be a fun project and also give everyone an inkling as what to expect on Saturday when Joyce presents her program.
